Air Ozawa chugs on .

This map shows the Ozawa 767 flights since yesterday . Hard pressed for time so cant post much more than this at the moment . But now I seem to have figured out the route plotting on a map ( like the one shown here ) somewhat so this is good !

Below map is the FSX flightplan plot of the last flight
from Lisbon to Tripoli ( Libya ) . Could have been a better flight overall :( .

Air Ozawa 767 ( hull chartered from AF ) on Final Approach at El Prat Intl. Barcelona

Bidding Europe Goodbye while crossing over the Alboran sea  over to the Algerian coast of Africa.

Early evening decent into Tripoli

Merry Christmas to all and sundry . May God and Santa bring you all the happiness and more !

Nirvana over the North Sea !

In this post I shall introduce you folks to what is very close to being my most favorite FS Aircraft ever . Presenting the pride and joy of the Ozawa fleet , the CLS 747-300 Hull Name : Princess Ozawa . This aircraft is probably one of my most flown and has clocked significant hours inmy logbook . Some other aspects make this aircraft even more endearing than usual . If you look closely in the above snapshot you will see two names painted near the right rearmost exit . Yup , those are the names of captain Saurav Dhole and Captain Soumen Acharya ( the two founding fathers and the two only pilots of Air Ozawa ... who says more the merrier !!) . Capn. Acharya , hope you are reading this :) .This aircraft in its Air Ozawa livery represents my first and only FSX repaint project so far . Now if only I can remember how I did this then expect a "Get a quick start" Repainting tutorial soon .  The CLS 747-300 is such a darling due to some significant reasons . Let me talk about the landing first .Getting her to land can be bitch of a task ..specially when flying with FSPassengers on . The usual landig profile being , tune nav1 and 2 , set ILS Course , intercept Localizer , turn over from GPS to NAV1 ( or 2),once Glideslop goes live turn off ALT hold, switch off AutoThrottle, let NAV take care of lateral while you adjust pitch and thrust manually to follow the glideslope down to glory . Sounds easy but give it a try on a fully laden 747-300 with flaps and gear down while in order to get a 'Good Landing" ensure touchdown and flare is not above -300 fpm . Every time leaves you yearning for the next ( especially when you botch the touchdown snapping the landing gear ,tyre burst and sending the jerk up the spines of your hapless passengers .. lol ). Besides , the aircraft has an above average VC ( in fact the viewpoint on the 2D panel is such that there is no view out ) and the entire flight can be completed from within the VC . Night lighting while great could have been better ( :p ). This is an extremely fulfilling while challenging aircraft to fly . While being one of the simpler/lite mode planes , it is exactly what you need when you just want to get on and fly while not having to pre-flight and program FMS for like an hour before you get started . yeah , this baby certainly has her days .The screenshots in this post are from the flights which covers the final leg(s) out of Europe .

Traffic high up while we lazily climb to Cruise altitude . Enroute Arlanda Intl. Stockholm from vantaa Finland.

Final approach into Arlanda Intl. Stockholm.

Having covered Scandinavia by means of flights through Oslo ( GarderMoen Intl.) > Helsinki ( Vanta Intl.) > Sweden ( Arlanda Intl.) and then onwards to Denmark ( Copenhagen Kastrup Intl.) the next destination was Amsterdam Schipol . Once there it was a matter of quick unload and Princess Ozawa was ready for the next flight out . From Amsterdam it was onwards to Shannon , Ireland but before making the long hop across the pond Air Ozawa was consigned to delivering some VIPs to Frankfurt Main , Germany , hence Germany it was . Below are some snapshots from Frankfurt , Arlanda and Shannon with the Aircraft in parking with ground service etc. in full swing . This is another area where the CLS 747s shine , with excellent ground service modelling .

En route Shannon Intl. from Schipol Amsterdam . Flying over Belfast Ireland .

Welcome to Ireland

This blog update is live from the cockpit . Even as I type this ,I am strapped to the Captain's seat while Ozawa 01 is cruising lazily at FL350 AT 310 KNOTS ( yeah .. pushing it a little ) . We are now crossing the North Atlantic on our way to Gander intl. Newfoundland , Canada . I look forward to writing a better and more comprehensive account of an Atlantic crossing soon . Besides the Air Ozawa Boeing 767 also needs to be hauled out of Europe into Anchorage Alaska soon . That probably would be the next big one ! For now its your Captain signing off . Have a swell week ahead ! Cheers and 3 greens :)

Thou art God !

These are not FS Screenshots :)

A beautiful evening here in Bangalore today . After a dull and overcast ( and colder than usual ) day the grand finale turns out to be a beautiful twilight , beautiful enough for me to overcome the laze and flick out the camera ( an actual camera and not a camera-phone ) ! I would have done this kind of stuff typically on my wall if I were on FaceBook but having a wall so discrete as this has its own charm i guess . Its great to be so "Far From The Maddening Crowds " .. time to go fish out the Chicane CD I ... ( just so apt for today :))
. Well , not everyday does my blog gets update like this .. Bless all with a great week ahead :).
